What is Vatnik Soup?

Vatnik Soup is a series of social media threads, podcasts, articles, books and videos about pro-Russian propagandists (affectionately called “vatniks”), how they operate, their networks. We also bring deeper insights thanks to our unique expertise into how online propaganda works and is spread, the impact of AI/LLMs on social media, manipulation through troll farms, Kremlin-crafted memes and narratives and coordinated fake news campaigns.

Our social media have had a massive impact, with hundreds of thousands of followers, and millions of views for our “soups” on major topics. Vatnik Soup has established itself as a respected actor in this new information space.

Our aim is ambitious: counter propaganda, and educate information consumers on how to not fall for it, by explaining the pitfalls of AI/LLMs, the dangers of manipulation of monetised platforms, up to basic history lessons to understand the facts that propaganda seeks to distort through malicious historical revisionism.

Vatnik Soup was founded by Pekka Kallioniemi in October 2022. We are a team of disinformation experts, analysts and researchers continuing his work under his guidance.
